NEW: Dragons Abreast Abroad
by James Marten

Dragons Abreast Hobart, a club of breast cancer survivors turned Dragon Boat paddlers, is heading to Lac du Bourget, Annecy, France, to compete in a regatta alongside 4,500 paddlers from 36 countries. They want to share with others going through breast cancer that life is not over, and that a whole new world of fun, fitness and friendship is available. Sonja Preston from the club said, “The regatta in France commences with training sessions, education sessions and parade on 24 August. The racing is over two days and some of our crew of 22 will holiday before or after the event.” We wish them all the best of luck racing! The club trains three times a week – Tuesday morning, Thursday evening and Saturday morning – from the Lindisfarne Rowing Club.
